The Eco-Efficient Reach Stackers Tailored for Container and Industrial Handling

Kalmar Eco Reachstackers come in two ranges: the Kalmar DRG420-450E and the Kalmar DRG500-700E, designed for container handling and heavy industrial applications, respectively.

Focusing on container handling, the Kalmar DRG420-450E boasts a lifting capacity of up to 99,000 pounds (45,000 kg). Featuring the ergonomic EGO cab, the reach stacker excels in stacking, capable of managing containers up to 6 high and 4 deep. This container handler is versatile, making it suitable for container yard and barge operations, as well as intermodal applications.

Engineered for industrial handling, the Kalmar DRG500-700E has an impressive lifting capacity of up to 154,000 pounds (70,000 kg). The heavy duty reach stacker also includes the comfortable EGO cab. This model is highly adaptable, with options like a tool carrier and a lifting hook, making it ideal for a wide range of industrial tasks. All Kalmar reach stackers are designed to deliver efficient performance tailored to their unique application needs.

Our updated Eco Reachstacker 2.0 is now available with a new Cummins L9 EPA Tier 4f engine which is combined with the most recent DANA hydro-mechanical variable transmission, giving you all the power you need, but using significantly less fuel than a traditional diesel engine. Reducing your fuel costs and your carbon emissions.

Putting you in control 

The Kalmar Eco Reachstacker 2.0 has many new features that help put you in control as you have the choice to operate your machine exactly the way that you want. The choice to operate in full power mode or choose to be as eco-efficient in the way your machine is operated. The more eco-efficiently you operate your machine, the less fuel you will use and the less carbon emissions you will produce.

More control over your engine speed

You now get a choice of three different optimized drive modes, Eco Mode which will guide your operator to be as energy efficient as possible reducing noise and air pollution as well cutting your fuel consumption. Or Normal Mode with subtle guidance that encourages your operators to be a little easier on your equipment and a little more energy efficient, and there is Power Mode which allows your operator to work at peak power.

More control over your braking

Our three new brake modes allow you to select the right level of braking for the task at hand. Eco Mode helps your operators to be as eco-efficient as possible when driving at low speed as it automatically uses smooth hydrostatic braking when the foot is taken off the drive pedal, while Normal Mode provides subtle engine braking when the drive pedal is released and Dynamic Mode provides a OnePedal Drive, automatically braking when the drive pedal is released.

More control over your steering

With SmartSteer you can operate your equipment in Eco Mode which guides your operator into driving as efficiently as possible by using less steering, reducing tire wear, fuel consumption, noise and air pollution. Or you can choose Normal Mode which provides subtle guidance and helps your machine become a little more energy efficient and there’s Comfort Mode that gives your driver has complete control over the steering.

Improved load handling

With OptiSpeed you can drive slowly and still handle loads quickly as the variable hydrostatic drive is able to split the power between the two tasks, giving you all the power you need to move your loads without having to maintain high engine speeds while moving slowly backwards or forwards.

Easier to maintain and service

We have improved the oil filter and now added a cold start valve and more robust larger filter cartridge making this machine even more reliable, plus we have improved the serviceability and diagnostics so any issues can be identified and rectified quickly.
